Climb on Mt. Hood was Preparation for Everest

December 15, 2006

Brian Hall, of Dallas, one of three lost climbers on Mt. Hood, was using this climb as a stepping stone to Mt. Everest.  It is not known whether the other two climbers  lost with him were training for the same purpose.

Hall does 4 or 5 climbs a year and has spent numerous months planning on the Mt. Hood ascent.  Hall is a physical trainer in the Dallas area and had played for the Dallas Professional Soccer team before it was dissolved.

“This trip was to serve as practice for Everest,” said Frederick Stephenson, owner of Performance Playground, a gym where Hall works.
