Rick Jacobs “Creature” Continues to Intrigue..

October 28, 2007

Rick Jacobs, the man who photographed what many have suspected as a “Bigfoot”, is now making National News.  I put up a post about this interesting story a couple of days ago and now the Associated Press has, as well.

By the sheer number of visitors to The Adventurist today..and the Blog Link by CNN, national attention is being put on these photos and has everyone wondering just what it is..

From comments here, at The Adventurist:

The animal in these pictures is not a bear. I’ve seen plenty of bears in my time, and I used to live in the NW Pa. area. I’m very familiar with the wildlife in the Bradford/Erie/Eldrid area, and I’m also familiar with the local stories that people have told for many years concerning “Bigfoot”. This is interesting and more attention from professionals should be focused on it.”  commented Joe Brem.

“It’s a chimp. Look at it and think about all the nature shows you’ve ever seen. The first picture is it bending over to retrieve whatever was on the ground and the second picture is it eating from the ground, a common thing for chimps.

Now the question becomes why is there a chimp loose in PA?”  This is coming from Morgan.

You can read this post and join in on the discussions taking place..as well as see the very interesting photos in question by clicking HERE.

The AP had the chance to talk to a few people at the Pennsylvania Game Commission and here is their theory:

‘There is no question it is a bear with a severe case of mange.”

They also go on to say that conservation officers routinely trap bears to be tagged that look like the images in the photos..

I think this is interesting how this is playing out on everyone’s mind.  Take another look at the photos.  Is it a really skinny bear?  A Chimpanzee on the loose?  Bigfoot?  Tell me your thoughts.

If this is a Pennsylvania bear with mange. I think it’s time for Pennsylvania to do something about their bears. Looks more than mangy to me.

    EDITOR’S WARNING!

There was a comment posted on this site by a Rick Jacobs “claiming to have released the video. They left a link. DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK! It will lead you to a Porn Spamming site. This is in NO WAY, SHAPE, or FORM related to Rick Jacobs or Jacobs Creature. I followed up on the comment..comments do show me email addresses. The email address in question is a known SPAM site and BANNED by AOL. Once Again, if you see a link posted by “Rick Jacobs” do not click! It is a fake and fraudulent site also infringing on copyright laws as well as identity theft. I have reported this site and hopefully it will be taken down and action will be taken.

I have deleted the one comment I have found, and don’t feel like it is worthwhile to put up the link. Families are reading this site and the outright use of this type of material is strictly forbidden.

Sorry, but these things happen from time to time. Luckily I found it and have banned them from posting on The Adventurist. Hope no damage was done. I try to do my best to moderate the comments being posted, but the shear number the last couple of days have made this a hard thing to keep up with.

Remember, I am watching. If you spam you will be reported and banned! This is a family friendly site. As far as stealing Mr. Jacobs identity and copywrited photo posted on the above mentioned site, I am sure the authorities will be looking into it.

At this point, I am not aware of the video of Jacobs Creature being released. Beware of any sites that claim to have one–and know that they might possibly lead you to Adult material. I am not saying a video won’t be released in the future, but at this time..it has not been made public.

Ive been studying these pictures a long time and there is 1 thing for certain it is not a Pennsylvania Black Bear! I know alot about them and Ive seen many. Including skinny and mangy. They just dont fit this thing! Other than that I don’t know what it is.

Bart is right. Not a bear.

If bears with mange look like this and if it is common for conservation officers to see bears that look like this then let’s see some photos of bears with mange so we can all see they look just like this. I have a hard time imagining that this could be a bear but if I saw photos of a bear with mange that looked this thin then I’d be happy to say “Yep, it’s a bear…” If nobody can show us a pic of a bear that looks like this then I’ll have to think it’s something else like maybe a chimp or something fo that family like …maybe……

The key to proving that the creature in the photo is NOT a bear is in looking at the ankle joints on the rear legs, or hocks, as they are more correctly called in quadrapeds. You will see a distinctive joint between the knee joint and the foot on all other quadrapeds, including deer, cows, dogs, cats, and even on the skinny, mangy bears in the couple of photos I’ve seen submitted on different sites. Inspection of the Jacobs creature shows that BOTH rear legs are straight from below the knee joint down to the foot, in both photos. I don’t know what it is, but can tell you what it AIN’T! LOL

Dave asked for a picture of a mangy bear to compare; there’s one here, with its legs in a similar position to one of the photos: http://www.angelfire.com/pa2/STONEMANGUITARS/bigfoot.html

It should also be noted that in the photos and in parts of the most widely publicized photo that most news outlets chose to crop, there are other animals that are clearly bear cubs.

To me, it seems clear that the so-called “ischeal bumps” are really the knobby ends of bones showing through the animals very very skinny skin.

And of course, one objection to it being a bigfoot is that the feet aren’t really very big. :-)

Yes, and compare the hocks. Bear with mange? I think not. Something else? Time will tell.

Got something to say?
