Avalanche Expert Killed By….(Do I Even Have to Say It?)..Avalanche

Mike O’Leary, a 56 year old Avalanche and Snow Safety Expert, has been killed by an avalanche on Mt. Eyak in Alaska. Mike O’leary had considerable backcountry and snow safety experience leading him to be one of the areas premier Avalanche safety and backcountry experts.
Authorities have noted that Mike had made a high avalanche forecast for the region the previous day. His body was found buried under 18 feet of snow. He is the third person in Alaska to be killed by Avalanches this winter.
Editor’s Note: No matter how odd the headline seems, let’s remember that Mike had family, friends and associates that will miss him dearly. Let’s keep them in our thoughts today.
