Steve Casimiro Interviews William Brant Holland–First Climber Booted From Mt. Everest

May 2, 2008

Steve Casimiro, National Geographic: Adventure’s West Coast Editor, has scored a monster interview with William Brant Holland–the first person booted from Mt. Everest this season for brandishing a Tibet banner.

I think many of us have been wondering just what went down with this unfortunate incident, and as far as I am aware, this is Brant Holland’s first interview since the incident.

The interview, it’s self, is pretty thorough and touches base on many of the issues that have come out about this incident. Press reports concerning this event, somewhat placed it as Brant was staging a protest for Tibet. Something that marks a guaranteed one way trip off of Mt. Everest this season. By reading his interview, all of us cvan gain a new understanding of what actually took place, and how this has become a bit misconstrued.

Kudos to Steve Casimiro for bringing us this highly informative and timely interview when little information is coming from Everest itself. Check it out over at the National Geographic: Adventure Blog. By the way, The Adventurist is on their blogroll–tell them I sent you over.
