The latest edition features Backpacker’s Editors’ Choice Awards. A great guide to some of the hottest and toughest outdoor gear of 2008. With summer right around the corner, many of us are looking to get our hands on some new gear and gadgets, this guide will help you make that decision a bit easier.

The April 2008 issue also features the best hot springs and secret soaks–for all of you that just don’t feel comfortable being naked indoors, you now have other options. I probably shouldn’t say that, the authorities might not think it is a good idea. Who am I to be your boss, though, right?

Further in the magazine you get articles on a geothermal trip through Iceland, as well as a great article on a couple of Iraq War vets who decided to try their hand at conquering Mt. Rainier, even though one had lost a leg and the other was blind–a good read and a bit of inspiration for those of us who might have a disability, or even a fear of trying to conquer a dream.
