Unfortunately, Alan has had to turn around at the Balcony. He was extremely tired and decided to return to Camp 4. He is obviously very disappointed and wants everyone to know that he gave it his best shot. When I spoke to him he was safely back in camp. Alan wishes to thank everyone for their support and good wishes.
Cathy
Cathy is Alan’s wife. She has been feeling a bit under the weather, so first, I am hoping you get to feeling better! Second, we all know Alan is a bit disappointed in this outcome. He was/is climbing for the Cure Alzheimers Fund, trying to raise awareness for Alzheimers and Alzheimers research. My first thought was “damn”, but then again, at least I know he is safe. Good effort Alan! The summit will always be there, but the journey is quite different each time. Memories are Everything!
Mountain Madness Summits!
ExplorersWeb has a small post timed at 10:31pm this evening. The post says that Mountain Madness has made the summit, but no words yet on how many or who they were. Mountain Madness was formally owned by and operated by Christine Boskoff and Scott Fisher. Scott Fisher was involved in those tragic events during the storm of 1996. If you recently watched Storm Over Everest, you should have the background on this situation. Christine Boskoff was involved in an incident last year in China while climbing and died, as well. You can read this POST for the background. I will have to update a bit later, as to the Mountain Madness team and the list of summiters.

IMG SUMMITS
EverestNews is reporting that International Mountain Guides has Summited–including Americans Casey Grom and Ari Jonathon Peress, they summited with their climbing Sherpas.
Everstnews also reports that Alpine Ascents is holding back a bit and that Adventure Peaks is currently between Camps 3 and 4. Nice to see a bit of spacing between these teams, as Everest is CROWDED this year.
