The Adventurist Launches A New Contest!!! (Come On, We All LOVE Contests Don’t We?)

July 17, 2008

Be Sure To Check Out The Latest Inductee Into The Adventurist’s Adventure Hall of Fame

I am quite fond of reading comments and reviews of other websites, and what other people think of how that site, blog, or even book looks to the public. I know this sounds weird so far, but bear with me on this, it gets good-

I am also approached quite frequently by fellow bloggers and writers on how to drive more traffic to their specific website or blog. This is happening more and more to me on a regular basis. I have teamed up with Skinny Moose Media and the Outdoor Bloggers Summit recently, and been given the chance to have an even bigger audience and media presence. Let’s face it, everyone loves readers.

In an effort to fill both of those voids I have come up with a plan to help my fellow bloggers and writers, as well as drum up some interest in to what all of us do. This contest is open to all writers and bloggers who currently run their own website, no matter what the subject and content–everyone can get involved and have some fun–

Now do the mandatory click below to read about the contest.

I am looking for bloggers and writers to write about The Adventurist. This can be done in a variety of ways such as a site review, the mentioning of specific articles (with links), perhaps even a critique. It doesn’t matter. You write the piece and include a link back to my site, either by way of an article, or to the Home page. THEN–send me an email through my contact page alerting me of this article, review, critique what have youI will visit your site and read the article.

I am going to collect these posts..list them out on another post on my blog, and send some free traffic your way. Also, if there are some good quotations from you, you might have the possibility of that becoming a permanent fixture on this site.

I do have a set time limit that I am going to keep this contest open for. I am not going to share that time limit—-haha. It is going to be secret.

Perhaps some of you are familiar with Blog Carnivals. This contest is based on the same theory of a subject being thrown out there, then, blogging submissions are written by fellow bloggers and compiled on the Blog Carnival site–in this case The Adventurist. The subject also happens to be The Adventurist. Easy enough.

Throughout this process, if I read something good, interesting, or possibly even bad that I like, I may make a blog post about it giving you more free traffic. Nobody loses for taking part in this contest. Everyone wins AND everyone will be listed that takes part. This should inspire some of you to get creative–like I said, it doesn’t matter what your website or blog is about…climbing, kayaking..even hunting, fishing, sports or news…write a piece, either mention The Adventurist with a link back, OR link to a specific article then give me a quick email through my CONTACT PAGE alerting me to your post or article. After I see a few of these posts, I will make a post to feature all of your articles on and drive you some reader traffic.

This contest is a test. If it works out well, there may be even something bigger on the horizon. I encourage all of you to take part. These contests do drive traffic. If you are looking for readers to your site, or blog, write the post mentioning my site or article and link to it on my site, or through my homepage.

AS AN ADDED BONUS: Do all of the above for The Adventurist blog carnival AND Subscribe to my free EMAIL NEWSLETTER and you will be put in a drawing for a special prize valued at at least $20, and quite possibly $50-$100, depending upon how many people participate. Feel free to comment below to let me know you have done everything necessary– we all know that comments can drive in traffic to your sites, as well. If you already subscribe to my Email newsletter, leave me a comment on this post for confirmation and I will include you in the drawing.

That’s It, Good Luck To All Of You, And We Will See How This Works Out!!

Perhaps a good work of fiction would be in order here! Hmmmmm I might have to get “creative”! Watch out!

Very nice story, Tom. You got me laughing, but that is exactly what I was looking for. I will note that all written works do not have to be fiction–Tom does have quite the creative mind–all it needs to be is a simple blog post with a simple mention. Thanks for participating Tom.
