High Altitude Critical Skills Training Workshop Scheduled For January 16-19th, 2009
If you have ever had dreams of conquering some of the world’s tallest peaks, listen up! On January 16, 2009, a special High Altitude Critical Skills seminar/workshop will be taking place in Breckenridge, Colorado. This seminar/workshop will be lead by some of the leading adventurers of our day and will include a full-on expedition style setting to learn your new skills. Emphasis will be placed on mountaineering skills and high altitude training specific to Mt. Everest and K2, but that may be used on other ‘lesser’ peaks as well.
This special program will include training by the likes of Tom and Tina Sjogren, (founders of ExplorersWeb and HumanEdgeTech), Luis Benitez, Michael Brown and David D’Angelo, Andrew Cull, and Tom Milne. The program includes a full expedition simulation with emphasis on skills needed to thrive in some of the harshest environments on the planet. This special program will last three days and take a look at all aspects of expedition climbing. This runs the course from seminars on high-altitude technology and equipment, to film making, to survival and medical skills, to critical decision making and the expedition mindset.
This program is a must for anyone that has wanted to push their physical and mental limits and perhaps embark on a large, expedition style climb. For more information, please check out the Program Overview, which includes pricing information, and the Full Schedule of what will be included during your three days of training. From there, check out the experience levels of those leading this special event.
This program will be tailored to the experience levels of those involved. If you aren’t so strong in some skills, or have little experience, this will give you the time needed to get those skills tuned and prepare you for the bigger world of climbing expeditions and life of the big-time adventurer. This looks to be a very exciting program that offers up information that would be invaluable to anyone with an interest in high-altitude climbing and expeditions. If you have an interest in this program, you had better jump on board fast. There are only a few days left before the High Altitude Critical Skills Training kicks off in Breckenridge, Colorado.
