Today’s Discussion: Snowmobiles In Our National Parks
The use of snowmobiles in our national park system has brought about some controversy of late. On one side of the discussion are those that feel that everyone has a right to enjoy our nation’s parks through whatever activity they choose. They help pay for the park system, right?
The second side of this debate revolves around those that say that snowmobiles, atv’s, and other off-road vehicles hamper the protection of these parks through their added pollution, tearing up the terrain, and the added noise of said vehicles.

With all discussions being presented and all arguments on the table, I thought it would be nice to open up a thread and hear your thoughts. Will the 2008 election matter in the end? I present to you a few questions for discussion:
1. No matter who is elected, they have both promised change. Can these changes be enforced and followed, or will this become one of the largest blinds ever put up on the American people?
2. What is the biggest issue that our next President will face?
Today’s Discussion: What’s One Book That Influenced Your Love Of The Outdoors?
All of us have been influenced at one time or another by an individual or book that we thought best represents the way we feel. Many of us who partake in the great outdoors on a regular basis probably owe more than we realize to a perceptions first brought about by reading a great outdoor adventure or how-to guide. Perhaps the biography of John Muir set you off on a path of conservation and discovery. Maybe Jon Krakauer’s “Into Thin Air” influenced you to go climbing that first mountain.
