Monster Wave: Surfer Rides 41 Foot Wave–Then Wipes Out

Kerby Brown’s story of catching a monster 41 foot wave is sweeping across the internet.  He was recently filmed surfing the rogue wave, in an undisclosed location, before wiping out and nearly killing himself.

I went straight over the lip and did about 10 backflips and then pulled a muscle in my shoulder.

This quote comes from a recent feature in The Daily Mail that showcased Kerby Brown’s amazing ride through photographic moments just before the wave came crashing on Kerby Brown.  This photographic series has been entered into the Oakley Surfing Life Big Wave Awards.  These awards reward surfers for riding the biggest waves in Australasian waters.  I am pretty sure that the competition just ripped up their entry forms..
