Everest 2008: Sherpas Summit Mt. Everest From the South Side!

May 20, 2008

More Breaking News–More Breaking News–More Breaking News

I told you it was going to get crazy.  Tonight will be even worse.

Jamie McGuinness has called in to MountEverst.net with the news that two Sherpas, one with Jaimie’s Project Himalaya team and one with Arun Treks, have successfully reached the summit of Mt. Everest.  This should mean that the ropes have been successfully put in to place all the way to to top of Everest.

The two Sherpa summiters, Namgyal Sherpa and Pemgya Sherpa, have recorded the first South side Everest summits of the year.  This is great news for everyone on the south of Mt. Everest as they prepare for their own pushes to the top, beginning tonight.  Jamie did mention that 8-10 groups will be heading up at roughly the same time tonight.  Should get exciting.  Please stop back by for the latest updates.
