Jack’s Pumkin Spice Ale review
On a recent visit to my folks, we found a grocery store that had a cooler stocked with individual beers to add to a six pack of your choice. We took five minutes to fill the cardboard holder with what looked interesting and went our quite happy way. (We were happy, the kids… not so much.)
The first beer we opened was Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale brewed by *Oh no, we didn’t see this before we bought it!* Anheuser-Busch, Inc. Oh man. Its funny though, we both shared a few sips before we noticed and thought virtually the same thing. Tastes like a light beer with pie spice sprinkled in. It had a light flavor and was blessedly un-sweet, nearly dry. The spicing was subtle for my wife but I picked up on it more, perhaps because of the IPA I was also drinking?
I’ll keep the mugs down for this one. Honestly, there is such a huge number of microbrews for me to buy I would rather spend the money on smaller breweries. For a novelty it was ok. I am glad we only got one. We both wondered if the big AB is trying to nudge into the micro scene?
Cheers!
