I brewed yesterday!
Since I’ve always been told “a picture is worth a thousand words”

I put the kids down for their nap yesterday afternoon and gathered up the goods. It was a beautiful afternoon and I spent it in my garage steeping stirring drinking and sadly, tidying up a little. This time around I remembered the whirlfloc at the 15 minute mark.
The kit was Midwest’s Kolsch with the Activator smack pack.

After it was cool enough I topped up the carboy.

Swirled and pitched!

I gave it a tumultuous trip in my arms down the stairs and to its resting place. Good night yeastie-beasties!

…and the best part of the journey?
GOOD MORNING!

The crawl space is moderately cool and stable. I’ll have to shift it back further so we have access to our storm hide away.
I’ll be checking gravities in a couple days to see my progress. I’m sure the cap will fall by then considering the rate it was going this morning. D’oh! I didn’t check original gravities! I blame it on the martini.
Cheers!
Tony
