Open Air With Tom Remington Broadcast For February 21, 2008
If you missed yesterday’s broadcast of Open Air With Tom Remington, here’s a chance to listen to it now. Below is the player button. Simply click the play button and listen while you surf, read your emails, etc.
This show is varied and I would like to provide you with links to support my information.
In my opening commentary/monologue, I shared with listeners about the current primary election and the promises of hope and change being tossed irresponsibly at times by articulating presidential hopefuls. I read part of a speech and here is the link in which anyone can find the full copy of that speech.
This broadcast contains a few laughs and commentary on the 2008 Daytona 500 Stock Car Race.
I also spent some time talking about the bit of conflict in southern Maine over 200 music students of Noble High School trying to raise $100,000 to go to New York on a field trip. It seems three residents within the school district don’t think it appropriate to raffle off a bear hunt, ingeniously provided by one of the student’s grandfather. This link will take you to the story about that and provides you with a link where you can go and purchase a $10 chance at winning a fully supplied Maine black bear hunt.
And, only in Maine! Hear about a Maine couple who’s truck burns up on the way to trade it on on another vehicle. Find out what happens.
And last but not least, global warming. In the Science Daily from Canada, I found an article I shared information about a man who wants to pump trapped CO2 down below the ocean’s surface a few miles and keep it there. You can read about that here.
In addition, I told you about two events that were running contrary to each other all in the name of saving the planet. The Tampa Tribune ran a story about middle school kids asking parents to stop idling their cars when they come to school to pick up students to save the earth.
At the same time, a study in Canada is showing that idling cars are less harmful to the air than shutting them off. What’s up with that?

Today’s “Open Air” Radio Broadcast
It’s time for another Skinny Moose Radio broadcast of Open Air With Tom Remington. Today’s show is interesting, at least I think it is. With all the hype and rhetoric being slung from state to state during this primary election season, we all are hearing from all the candidates about hope and change. The first segment of the show I talk about hope, change and faith and how none of these are much good if not implemented with individual action.
After that, I rag on NASCAR for a bit expressing my dislike of the very boring Daytona 500. Aside from the last minute of the race, which as a result of Tony Stewart making a bad decision, allowing Ryan Newman to win the race, what happened anyway? YAWN!
I share with listeners how they can help out 200 music students at Noble High School in southern Maine by purchasing a raffle ticket or twenty for a guided Maine black bear hunt, or use it as a photo opportunity.
And never fear! For those who were just hoping, yes, I have some more information on global warming. Information I think you really want to hear.
So, tune in today at 3:00 p.m. Click this link and then click on the “Listen in Live Now” button.

Open Air With Tom Remington - Feb. 14, 2008 Broadcast
If you missed yesterday’s show, here’s a chance to listen to it now or download to your device for listening later. I talked about a variety of things and want to take a moment just to give you some links where you can find information about some of what I talked about.
It was Valentines Day yesterday and I told you about a story out of Saudi Arabia where they banned red stuff because it was anti-Islam and promoted relationships out of wedlock. Read about the absurdity here.
Ever seen the world’s tallest snowman? How about the world’s tallest snowwoman? Both can be found in my little hometown of Bethel, Maine. First came Angus, King of the Mountain, in 1999, who became the world’s tallest snowman measuring over 113 feet. Now being built on the same location, the world’s tallest snowwoman. Click this link for a live webcam of the snowwoman as it is being constructed.
And don’t miss out on how to tell your buddies and anyone else who asks, the length of the fish you just caught.
Lastly, a bit about global warming. I talked about, as I have much in the past, the dangers of becoming a part of the all or nothing global warming alarmists. Read here how global warming is killing all the penguins……or so some think.

Open Air With Tom Remington Feb. 7, 2008 Broadcast
I know this is late getting up, but for anyone who might have missed last weeks show, you can click on the player below and stream the audio now.
Last weeks show mostly covered Allstate Insurance’s request to raise insurance rates to Florida homeowners by 42% because of global warming. I have said for some time that there are many dangers to us by simply jumping on the global warming bandwagon even if science doesn’t know.
Candidate John McCain has repeatedly stated that he sees no harm in promoting global warming. This is just one example of how people are exploiting the myths of global warming in order to rape the public of money through taxation and increased fees. It seems every price increase is now tied to global warming.
Learn more about it.
