Last night I was excited to visit with my friend Alex Rutledge from Hunters Specialties at Heartland Outdoors in  Hutchinson, KS.  He was invited  to give a seminar on  his expertise on turkey hunting .  As windy as it was last night, I was surprised the turkeys didn’t literally do a “fly-by” in front of the store.  Alex definitely found out what KS weather is all about.  Being a good ol boy from MO he was delighted to talk to several customers and let them have a hands on approach to calls and techniques he has mastered in the turkey sport.   Alex is proud to be a part of Hunters Specialties who carries over 800 hunting products.   Their business all started from one roll of camo tape.

He shared pictures of his family as others shared their “Magic” buck pictures on their phones as well.   No question was left behind for the newbies in the sport, (me included!!)  His humbleness was an added element of his teachings. 

I was fortunate to meet Alex in Vegas at the 2008 Shot Show.  I was delighted that he took time out to talk to me and my husband for a good part of the afternoon.  His loyalty and love for the sport of hunting shows through his personality and his love for God.   His career continues to be blessed everyday by his passion to share and teach.
