The Ultimate Integrated Targeting, Illumination, and Video Documentation Weapons Accessory
Duty officers who put their lives on-the-line deserve equipment which provides the most confidence and peace-of-mind possible. ShotCam combines four integrated technologies for additional situational awareness, accuracy, non-lethal surprise and intimidation and audio/video event/suspect/witness documentation.
Most weapon deployments occur under low light. ShotCam delivers 120 lumens of bright white light to provide an officer the maximum in situational awareness, put blinding light on the suspect, and provide increased safety for innocent bystanders.
Laser-targeting capability allows an officer full and total focus on the target without thought or worry about the front and rear sight focus and alignment. A laser focused on the perpetrator provides considerable intimidation.
Video and audio documentation provides an officer the peace-of-mind that he can prove his story and dramatically reduce personal, departmental, and jurisdictional liability. ShotCam also provides valuable evidence leading to more convictions. Video and audio documentation also can assist in identifying and apprehending suspects who succeed in fleeing a scene. Removed from a weapon, the Shotcam can serve to provide video, still frames, and audio of a crime scene and witnesses.
Documentation is saved in an encrypted manner to non-removable on-board memory which can be Mini-USB port downloaded only with a security password to assure evidence authenticity and proper evidence handling.
Features and Specifications
• Ultra-bright LED Tactical Illuminator provides 3+ hours of 120 lumen bright white light.
• Laser Targeting System is class IIIa visible laser with windage and elevation adjustments.

The on-board memory is 512 megabytes which allows for over 30 minutes of video plus over 100 high resolution still images.
• 3.2 Megapixel Digital Camera (manual operation or automatic recoil-event activated)
• Frame mounted on any Picatinny-style or Weaver-style rail. Overall size is 3.1″ x 1.7″ x 1.2″. At only 5.5 ounces, does not interfere with a sidearm’s cycling and handling characteristics.

Today I was sitting at the dentist office and watching my daughter read a Nickelodeon magazine and came across this article about a hotel that is shaped like a Beagle. I couldnt believe my eyes at first and then I couldnt help but laugh at the mere thought of this!! It comes with the following to start………..
Dog Bark Park Inn offers a continental self-serve breakfast featuring our family’s secret recipe for The Prairie’s Best Fruited Granola. Breakfast also includes a variety of teas, coffees, juices, fresh fruits, boxed cereals, milk, yogurts, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, locally made pastries & breads.
And to top it off the artists who live here carve all kinds of dogs no matter the breed shape or size.. Can you imagine how creative they are?

El Dorado couple has been a force behind event since its inception
EL DORADO — The Kansas Governor’s Annual One Shot Turkey Hunt board of directors has announced the retirement of event coordinator and president, Marv McCown, and treasurer Judy McCown. Marv has served in the capacity of coordinator since the inception of this event in 1986. He has helped the El Dorado celebration of turkey hunting gain nationwide attention by bringing business leaders and recognized celebrities into collaboration with conservation organizations.
Judy’s contributions include administrative support for the hunt and all associated groups and programs, including the Past Shooters and Guides Association, the Willis Scholarship Foundation, the JAKES program, and the Youth Celebrity Program.
In 2001, the couple retired from the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce and have devoted their time to the Governor’s One-Shot event since. The board has recognized their dedication and has placed them into the Governor’s One Shot Turkey Hunt Hall of Fame.
“Marv and Judy McCown have been the reason the Kansas Governor’s One Shot Turkey Hunt has lasted 22 years and through the tenure of four governors,” said former Governor Mike Hayden. “Their retirement will leave huge shoes to fill in the Governor’s Hunt. We are glad they have agreed to stay involved for one more hunt to be held next April, and we wish them good health and a great retirement.”
The McCown’s have worked with former governors Hayden, Joan Finney, and Bill Graves, as well as current Governor Kathleen Sebelius. Each governor has participated in the event.
“Marv and Judy have done an amazing job over the past 22 years making the Governor’s Hunt a remarkable event for all those involved,” said Governor Sebelius. “As just one of the governors who has benefited from the McCowns’ dedication and expertise over the years, I offer my warm thanks and best wishes to them both. We’ll miss them greatly.”
The Board of Directors will be working on the organizational structure of the Governor’s One-Shot Turkey Hunt and will continue to hold the event in El Dorado, with assistance from volunteers. For more information, contact Darrell Whitney at 316-320-2265.

GOOD OPTIC START WITH YOUR EYES
When we think about the hundreds and thousands of dollars that we spend on our optics, many of us forget where the optics start. To take a true full advantage of the technology of today in optics, we need to start with the basics, that being the optics that the good Lord gave us. As we age and our exposure to the Sun increases, we are at risk for a condition called Macular Degeneration and Cataracts. The Macula which is the back or posterior part to the retenia which controls our fine vision, begins to thin and we start to loose our focus and clarity. Many of us are already experiencing signs. Two years ago at the age of 38, I began to have to move things farther away to be able to read them. This is a condition call Presbyopia. It happens to most individuals somewhere around the age of 40. This is one of the reasons I developed the Clear Shot Formula. The second reason is that my Mother-in-law at age 66 was diagnoised with Macular Degeneration two years ago. In learning about and researching this condition, along with my own vision woes sparked the development of this cutting edge product called the Clear Shot Formula
This brings us to the discussion of the two most important ingredients of the Clear Shot Formula which are Lutein and Zeaxanthn. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are two powerful anti-oxidants that the Macula can actually reabsorb and thus increases the overall health of our eyes. Improving focus, clarity, and faster visual reflexes. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are found in our everyday diets, however most of us (myself included) just do not get enough of it on a daily basis. In order for our eyes to receive the optimal nutrition, you would have to eat two large bowls of raw spinach a day! I love a good Spinach Salad, but I am not up for two bowls a day. The fact is that our eyes are going to age and there is no way for us stop that, but you can give your eyes optimal nutrition and keep them working at the full performance potential. For a complete list of ingredients please visit our web site at Performancehunter.com

Sierra Sportsmen Network is holding a fishing and hunting photo contest in celebration of the launch of its new website, www.sierrasportsmen.org. Winners will receive a $500 gift certificate to Patagonia or Bass Pro Shops. The contest will be judged by prominent representatives of Boone & Club, Field & Stream Magazine, National Geographic, Sierra Club, the Orion Institute, the National Wildlife Federation, Save our Wild Salmon, and the Federation of Fly Fishers.
Sierra Club is trying to reach out to more anglers and hunters. Sportsmen have been involved in conservation efforts since the Club was founded more than one hundred years ago. With 20% of Sierra Club members fishing and hunting, they realize that conservation has a big role to play in terms of maintaining wildlife populations and habitat. Sierra Sportsmen’s hope is that the new site will serve as a hub for hunters and anglers, allowing them to reach across state lines, transcend geographical barriers and connect with each other, find out about conservation issues that affect them, help pass on outdoor traditions to the next generation, restore local streams, protect game habitat, and fight global warming.
The site includes interviews with prominent figures in the outdoor movement such as President Lowell Baier of the Boone & Crockett Club, as well as conservation updates, and opportunities for sportsmen to take action on issues that affect us all. Members of the Sierra Sportsmen Network can stay updated on the latest in outdoor news through Schwedler’s “Greenneck” blog. So sign up and enjoy all the benefits Sierra Sportsmen has to offer.

(photo on left-Tracy Galvin of KDWP displaying actual mountain lion shot)
For years in and around KS people have been seeing mountain lions in the state of KS. According to the KS Wildlife and Parks that is a hoax to them. If you call the KDWP and report a sighting of a mountain lion in KS, you will be told there are no mountain lions living in our state. You may be even asked to take a picture for verification and evidence. There have even been stories of a mountain lion that had a chip in it and was used by the KDWP for research. That cat was actually shot in KS and was put in a deep freezer until the KDWP tracked it down. As the story goes mind you………….
Local ranch owners and farmers have seen deer hanging from trees, mares with huge claw marks on their hinds from being taken down, huge paw-prints left in impressionable material and visuals have been talked about for years. Did you know that according to KDWP mountain lions in KS just pass through our state? They have dinner reservations in the other states like Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. I guess we don’t offer enough roadkill here to satisfy the cravings of a mountain lion. So when they are walking through our tall grass, watching our ample supply of deer, drinking and playing in our vast streams and jumping from tree to tree…………….they have decided that KS just isn’t the state for them and they should press on.
Multiple stories have been written about a local man shooting a mountain lion in Barber County, KS in March. He called the KDWP and was told there are no big cats here and that he probably saw a bobcat not a mountain lion. So he shot it and took it to Texas to have it mounted. Authorities have now captured the pelt and are DNA testing it to see if it was a captive cat. Samples from South American DNA would suggest captivity, however, if North American samples are matched then the evidence would prove to be wild. I have never in my life heard of such research done nor all the uproar mountain lions have established in the great state of Kansas. I don’t know if the KDWP are afraid if they admit to mountain lions here they would be subject to hunters and outfitters wanting to harvest them. Right now our law states that it is illegal to shoot a mountain lion for just his presence. However, you are allowed to kill this animal if you or livestock is in danger or there is property damage. The last stated and documented proof was in 1904 in Ellis County, KS. So over 100 years this will be the first evidence that is tangible and documented. To think this was just a lone incident and we don’t have room for mountain lions here in KS. Because lets face it Motel 6 in Oklahoma left the lights on !!!!
Anyways no charges have been filed on this incident and lots of people have been commenting and writing stories. You are welcome to view the story at www.hutchnews.com, www.pratttribune.com or the www.gyphillpremiere.com. Please feel free to comment. I would love to hear your stories and comments!!!
As Always
