We all knew that the Big 10 was strong in softball, but how’s this for a number: 13. That’s how many players were selected by the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) to the All-Region teams that are broken down into nine regions across the country. This once again gives credibility to the strength that the conference has in terms of having quality players and teams not only top to bottom, but also on a national level.

The players that have been named to the first team for their respective regions:

P Jordan Taylor University of Michigan
2B Samantha Findlay University of Michigan
SS Teddi Ewing University of Michigan
OF Alessandra Giampaolo University of Michigan
UT/Non-P Brittany Vanderink Ohio State University
P Lauren Delaney Northwestern University
2B Nicole Pauly Northwestern University
SS Tammy Williams Northwestern University
UT/Non-P Colleen McGlaughlin University of Iowa

Congrats on your accomplishments! Delaney was also named the national player of the week for the week of May 11 by NFCA.org. Rock on with your bad selves!!
