Kellen Lewis will have to compete to start for Hoosiers

Kellen Lewis not starting? Yeah right...

According to the Indianapolis Star, coach Bill Lynch has been quoted that the starting quarterback job just won’t be handed back to Kellen Lewis, that he is going to have to “fight it out” with Ben Chappell to get the helm.

Ok, sure, Bill, whatever it takes to make you feel better about reinstating Kellen.

Give me a break. If this isn’t posturing, I don’t know what is. Lewis, when on his game, is one of the best QBs in the Big Ten, and some consider one of the most exciting in the country. No offense to Chappell, but that is like saying when Michael Jordan came back to the Bulls that he would have to go through training camp against Pete Myers before they would declare him a starter.

Don’t insult our intelligences, Indiana–we know you are trying to be as extra careful as you can and handle everything with kid gloves (Iowa, take note), but this isn’t even a funny joke. Lewis will be on the field and he will start just as you can be sure Danica Patrick will pick a fight with another driver in IRL. It’s a no brainer.
