Congrats to Joe Pa, the king of coaching–for now

So sorry for my lack of timing.

Congratulations to Joe Paterno, who by winning last week’s game and Bobby Bowden losing to Wake Forest, broke a tie as the winningest coach in college football history. Paterno, who has been coaching since Penn State was invented, dedicated his numero uno status to all of the bugs he’s killed with his coke bottle glasses. In an interview with ESPN, when asked what his best victory was, Joe Pa answered with, “Don’t you patronize me, boy! Penn State is Linebacker U, you know! I remember when sandwiches were called Flat Freddies!!!” The reporter went on to ask different questions as to why he’s been coaching so long and what is still the motivating factor, to which Paterno cut the interview short with a calm, “Uh oh. Pooped myself a little.”

Ok, I jest…kind of.

This is actually a great honor for what can be described as one of the most feisty, entertaining, octogenarians on the planet. He certainly deserves this honor. He’s the king of coaching–for now…..

I say we have a battle royal with Bowden and Paterno to decide it all.
