As I mentioned on the previous post, I have a nice 4 X 3 coming in to one of my sets. I believe it is the same buck that I have pictures of; one in August, 2007, and one on January 1, 2008. In both previous cases it was a one-time event; a quick picture and gone. This year the buck is a one and a half miles from the other two locations. See for yourself below, and let me know what you think.
Elk season is approaching quickly. If you are one of the lucky ones who drew a tag in either Arizona or New Mexico, please visit Rocky Mountain Game & Fish Magazine online to read my forecast, Southwestern Bulls In 2008.
Southwestern Bulls In 2008 - By Darren Choate Arizona and New Mexico are fired up for an elk season that promises very good opportunities for trophy back-scratchers. Even in what most would consider a drought, the 2007 elk seasons in Arizona and New Mexico were grand, to say the least. Many factors have changed since the end of the season, but the outlook for the 2008 season looks exceptionally promising.
Early this summer I had a picture of the following goofy-looking bull. Checked the Cuddebacks today, and, well, the bull is getting bigger, but still looks goofy. Please feel free to check out my Trail-camera website at: trailcam.drchoate.com

I filmed this unusual event while hunting at Turk Ranch in Texas in 2005. One afternoon I was filming a small buck at a feeder. Suddenly, I caught movement from my left. When the animal appeared, I honestly thought it was a goat. In reality, it was a mature whitetail buck that had lost both of his antlers (only stubs remained), I am sure in some battle. Regardless, this animal was still the dominant buck. Enjoy!
I have discussed the excitement that trail-cameras provide for me. Wondering what pictures you will have each time. Of interest to me is, an animals use of the same area year after year. When I came across the picture of a bull that I posted a picture of last weekend, I thought it looked familiar. A number of things caught my attention: g-1s that go up and “droopy” g-2s, veining in the antlers, and just overall configuration. I believe the following pictures show the same bull. Although last year, the bull had more points. What do you think? Post a comment.

Well, the upcoming elk and deer seasons are just a summer away. I have had a few trailcameras out for a couple of weeks now. I decided to check a few this weekend, and it was a good thing I did. I had well over 1000 pics in just a couple of weeks. In fact, one camera was so well used the batteries were dead. Most of the pics I got were of elk. Below are a couple goofy bulls. Enjoy.
