AFC Championship Game- San Diego at New England

It seems like no one ever learns that you don’t need to give the Pats a reason to have anymore motivation…because they already have plenty! If I were Norv Turner, I would have slapped Igor Olshansky for his remarks after their victory over the Colts. Does he have a brain? You really think the Pats are more worried than the Chargers? I highly doubt it. That being said, I expect the Pats to win with ease over the streaking Chargers. I do expect the Chargers to be able to run the ball against the Patriots, but I can’t see their defense shutting down Tom Brady. Basically, I expect somewhat of a shootout, but with the Patriots doing more of the shooting. I will say this…the Chargers have a chance if they can pile up 200-plus yards on the ground.  The Patriots are favored by 2 touchdowns. Luckily, I won’t be betting on the game, but if I were, I would bet the Patriots will cover that spread.

 Prediction:  Patriots 37  Chargers 20

NFC Championship Game- New York at Green Bay

This game should be better than the AFC Championship game. I will be shocked if this game isn’t a nail biter.  I don’t feel confident with this pick. In fact, I don’t have a clue who is going to win. The Packers have been the better team the entire year, but the Giants are surging, and they have won 9 straight games on the road.  Eli Manning is playing great, the running back combo looks awesome, and the pass rush looks as good as ever. BUT…the Giants are decimated with injuries at the cornerback position. Even if some of their typical starters are able to play, I doubt they will be 100%.  Greg Jennings and Donald Driver should have big days.  Don’t be surprised if Koren Robinson gets more involved this week as well. Unless the Giants can get a lot of pressure on Favre, the Packers offense will pick apart New York’s defense. With the weather expected to be bitterly cold, the game may be decided by who can most effectively run the ball. I would give the Packers a slight edge in that category as well. Green Bay is favored by one touchdown, and though I think the Packers will win, I think the game will be decided by a closer margin.

Prediction: Green Bay 24  New York  20
