What up! My name is Spencer Spellman and I like long walks on the beach and vanilla ice cream with Hershey’s fudge shell poured generously over it. I am a recent graduate of Western Carolina University where I studied philosophy. (The giggling and bewilderment you’re experiencing right now is only natural and you shouldn’t attempt to resist it.) I have recently moved to Greenville, South Carolina where I have this sweet job working with children with behavioral issues.

The most important thing in my life is my relationship with Jesus and I believe that everything else I do is merely an extension of how God, in his goodness, has made me and is making me. I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of some things much bigger than myself, including traveling to France and living in South Africa for a summer. All of which I’m thankful, but take for granted.

Over the last few months I’ve been driven to write and it’s the first time I feel like I’ve really felt passionate about doing something. Now I get to say something at least halfway cool when people ask me what I do. “So, Mr. Spellman, what do you do?” “Well Mr. President, thank you for asking, naturally I’m a writer.”

When it comes to sports and outdoors I love just about anything. I have to say that golf, basketball, and hiking are at the top. Sports you could say is my escape. When it comes to golf, there is something so captivating and exhilarating about the game. I don’t know if I can exactly explain it to the point where you can fully understand how a sport such as golf would be captivating and exhilarating, but hopefully I can give you a glimpse into this game, as well as keeping you informed.

I’m still a newbie when it comes to this whole writing thing, but I’m coming to love it more and more. I love having the opportunity to connect with an audience on a deep level and to have the opportunity to have people take a little piece of me with them.
