Wheelchair Accessible Hunting
For some hunters, sitting in the seat all day can really test a hunter’s dedication. Most get up and move around or head somewhere else in hopes of some action. But for those who are restricted to a wheelchair, every hunt is a test of the dedication. Wheelchair accessible hunting is a very popular activity for both men and women who like to be outdoors. With today’s choices in wheelchairs, adaptive equipment, hunting clubs, accessible hunting lands, and special groups that are dedicated to disabled hunters, opportunities for hunting have never been greater.
Internet sites related to hunting are probly in the millions with new ones every day. Most of the bigger and better sites all have sections just for disabled hunters. You can talk to others who share similar stories, tips, ideas, and even hunts. Alot of groups, friends and hunts happen when people start talking on these websites. In 2001 a national non-profit group was started because of discussions between friends in a popular hunting website. That website, the North American Hunting Club’s message board’s Life Members forum, organized and forms what is now known as Hunters Helping Hunters. They are a 501c3 charity that helps hunters and their families in times of need.
Back to wheelchair accessible hunting…. if your interested in hunting from a wheelchair, check out the “Help Central” page here at help4hunters.com I have listed a few of the websites that I think are some of the best from my web searches, so far. I’m always adding if I can find good sites. I list groups and equipment so check it out. And let me know if you have any that are good and if any of mine are not linked anymore.
