    BEYOND BACKPACKS REVIEW

Going into the woods and carrying my bow, calls, gear and more I always seemed to be needing more and more space for all my hunting extras. Once I got up into my stand, even in my double stand, I always had trouble finding enough room to store all my extras, as well as have quick, quiet and easy access to all my calls, binos and everything else I needed… down to my contact solution!

The problem I began to notice, with even carrying my waist bag or shoulder bag, that once I was in the tree, I had to find a place to hook the bag, then fumble around inside quietly to find whatever I needed at the time.

I resorted to hanging numerous tree hooks, which eventually made the tree I was in look like a holiday Christmas tree, dangling all its ornamental decor… and that was not going to work!

With this product, you have a single or double blind for your stand built into the back of the bag PLUS the entire backpack full of pockets and space for all your hunting supplies…the blind DOES NOT take away from the backpack!

Once you quickly have the blind set, the bag(matching in camo)hangs upright for easy access to all your hunting gearas well as an interior pocket for quick and quiet access to anything else you might need!

I love all the options this bag has to offer; space for all of my gear, organization, quiet and quick access to everything I could ever need, and a blind…all in one. This bag is well made, waterproof and comfortable to wear. I believe this is one of the best products on the market today to accompany me into the woods on each and every hunt!

LINDA SEELEY - FEMALE HUNTERS AND THE BONDS WE SHARE!

Finding friends is not always easy,

but when you have a passion that runs deep,

and you cross paths with another who shares that same passion,

an instant friendship is found…and is forever lasting.

Many of us, either being new to the hunting way of life or just searching for female friends that also hunt like we do in our spare time, often have a difficult time finding fellow female hunters to talk with, email, learn from, or look up too.

My story is not far from how all the other girls have networked in the past few years thanks to the internet . Growing over the past few years, many sites have popped up such as Myspace sites and a few women targeted forums …. small but mighty, places like this have paved the way for ladies to get together and find friends across the states who share the same passion for the outdoors and hunting.

Signing up to Myspace, only to get into my graduating classes’ page to chat with my old highschool friends, I quickly became intrigued on who I could find on this network containing thousands of people across the world.

Finding a few female myspace sites for women hunters,I discovered these women were just like me, everyday ladies…..heading out on early mornings to hunt on their days of of work.

Looking around I decided to go back to the main board and see if anyone was missing. Maybe there were more of us, ladies who havent had the luck of finding the site. I hit the browse friends link, and quickly typed ” female hunters” in the blank box. After hitting search, and finding a few profiles I came across Lindas site and the rest is female-friend hunting history!

Linda is another everyday woman with extraordinary talent . She has an amazing story, just like many of us do, but hers was so inspiring to me.

I looked over her profile, scanning all of her hunting pictures and instantly noticed she was a pianoist, just like my mother. I could not wait to listen to samples of her music.

Luckily, she had them dowloaded right on her page and I could listen and choose which were my favorite. I quickly added Hollandale Hideaway to my Myspace page….and ordered two cds!

I listened to her songs, all that she had played and written herself. Being inspired by her love for the outdoors and hunting, I was also inspired to know she was out there and was only a quick email away. I quickly began to type up an email, explaining my love for the outdoors and sent it right away.

I did not know if she would check it or even take the time to write back to a total stranger, but she did and ever since we have kept in close contact.

Finally, I had a girlfriend I could run home and write too…one to share my hunting stories with. I could ask questions and get some answers! Linda is such a great friend, eventhough we have yet to meet and we are many states away. We however, have many things in common, our passion and love for the outdoors, and that has had us laughing and sharing stories ever since.

As I said above, Linda is a very accomplished pianist, and has many songs you can listen to off her myspace site, which is listed below. She also has cds for sale, which I highly recommend! I listen to them almost everyday driving home from work as I try to relax from a 24 hour shift at the firehouse!

    MY FIREFIGHTING STORY

    IAFF INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS

The Outdoor Woman. She has a job, a family and a busy life style. She finds the time to learn her equipment, learn the land and learn the animal she wishes to hunt, while balancing her everyday life. She does this because she loves it, and with this page I will share with you interviews, and personal experiences of women who are just like you, each has her own story, and each gets out there and hunt just like you and I are doing. Each of us has a job or career we must balance and each woman has her own unique story. Here is mine.

My fulltime job away from hunting is being a fulltime Firefighter and Paramedic.

Growing up, I was in and out of the fire station each and everyday. My father has 35 years in the fire service and is a Lieutenant on a Ladder Company in Columbus, Ohio. I loved growing up watching the guys come and go at the drop of a hat, and was fortunate enough to know what I wanted to do when I grew up.

I went to college for an EMS and Fire Science degree, completed the state 240-hr fire training, and then paramedic training. Along with those certificates we also had to complete ACLS( Advanced Cardiac Life Support ), PALS( Pediatric Advanced Life Support ) and CPR(Cardiopulmonary Resusitaion )training, just to name a few.

Being a woman, the training was no different for me, but the people in my training classes sure were! I would often walk into each class or training program and only see men. Men instructors and men students. I always ended up being the only female to attend most of the classes. It was difficult at first, but as I became more and more confident in my skills, I knew I could do everything that the men could do.

I went through school, obtained all my state certifications, and began applying to take each departments’ entrance exam as well as taking their Physical Agility tests.

Each test covered EMS( Emergency Medical Service) questions, fire questions, and was followed up with a physical agility test. They would rank you, depending on the combination of your scores, and usually pick the top two or three depending on how many the department could hire.

This was a very stressful time in my life, taking test after test and competing against guys in great physical shape. I would be ranked up against them, so obtaining a job was a very competitive process for all of us.

I worked hard, and within one year of obtaining my certifications, and working fulltime as a 911 dispatcher in between, I was offered a fulltime job and my favorite department.

I have been on fulltime duty for 6 years now, and love it as much as the first day I started.

Yes, it is demanding, but the satisfaction of helping others keeps me going everyday.

This may seem like it has nothing to do with my other passion, hunting, but I am here to tell you that they go hand in hand. Being a female in a male dominated job, the fire service gave me the confidence to get out into the male dominated hunting industry and know that I could do it just like I had done with my career.

I have proven to myself and others that just because I am a female, does not mean I can not learn and get out there and do everything the boys can do!
