    ABOUT

For a city girl born and raised, I have come a long way from my upbringing to how I am living today. Just three years ago I set out on my own, my first fulltime job in my back pocket, and a new adult life ahead of me. I finally had the job stability to look around and choose how I wanted to spend the rest of my life. No more city sounds, rushing cars, and city streets.

Spending weekends on my aunt and uncles’ farm outside of Columbus, Ohio growing up, I had a short-lived escape to the land, the animals, and the stillness of nature. I knew once I was able to get out on my own thats where I would go. Out there…somewhere. I ended up moving north of our capitial city to a small town in Knox county. Even before I started hunting I often heard rumblings that the bucks and turkey were great in Knox…whatever that meant. At the time it didnt matter to me, all I cared about was being out of town.

Soon I began dating a guy who was always on the go and he always seemed to be into something. I would constantly see him rush in the door to grab the phone to call his friends and talk for hours about his daily hunt. So hunting is what all this excitement was about?

Well, you can probably guess at the rest.. and as any woman who has been a daughter, girlfriend, or wife to any one of these men knows too…you had better get interested or not see him depending on the season, weather, or how many tags he has yet to fill. So I instantly jumped into everything from catfish to bass, ducks to turkeys and whitetails. Besides, I wanted to be a part of all this excitement too.

I guess its safe to say I have had a whirlwind of a living in the past three years. And I am here to tell you alot has happened. Alot was learned, and much more was taught. I have had many frustrating days being out there learning what hunting and the outdoors emcompasses, but having the excitement of being a beginner and having all the “first times ” fresh in my mind, or ones yet to come…I set aside those bad days and find myself wishing for the months to come and go and the hunting seasons to hurry up.

I cant believe in just three short years I am now the one who sits around and counts the days until I can head out and find my spring gobbler or free-ranging whitetail.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read my page. I hope you take the time to comment and let me know what you enjoy and what you would like to see on the page in the future!

    Happy hunting!
