Southeast Ohio Hunting Leases has announced that they will begin offering guided, week- long hunts starting October 18th 2008.

The outfitting aspect of this business has been born out of repeated requests by friends, business associates and potential customers of Southeast Ohio Hunting Leases to offer guided hunts to people that aren’t sure that a year round lease is the right fit for them.
The guided hunt properties are in the desireable area of southern Guernsey county and will include all meals, lodging game care and guides. The lodge is located in the heart of 1100 acres that have been procured for the outfitting operation. Only 4 to 6 hunters will be occupying the camp at any given week to make sure the area will not be overhunted. Ladder stands are already in place and under certain circumstances clients may be able to use their personal climing stands as well.
Much attention has been given to the service end of the this new business endeavour. The lodge is large, well heated and comfortable. The lodge even has a bedroom dedicated to any females or couples that may be in camp, providing extra privacy for sleeping and changing for these guests. Meals will be plentiful and of the highest quality. all prepared by a local cook with years of experience.

The owner and guides are all residents of the area and have many years of combined experience in whitetail and turkey hunting.

Columbus Ohio – From WBNS 10TV News in Columbus, continued reports are being made from homeowners that more of their pets have become the target of what looks to be a crossbow shooter.

The Capital Area Humane Society is now advising homeowners not to leave their pets unsupervised, even in their own backyards.

“What kind of person would do something like that?” neighbor Bonnie Cramer asked, “Obviously this is a very disturbed individual.”

At this time two cats have been shot and survived earlier this year, but now dogs seem to be the new target. Both dogs that have been reported shot have deceased.

(Photo WBNS10TV News)

I personally am outraged that anyone could take aim to anyones pet let alone think that this is an acceptable way to behave.

I am a hunter, and believe in the harvesting of animals within the guidelines of the state laws, and doing so humanely. Anyone out there who practices this kind of behavior with pets or any other animal not within the guidelines of state season and law should be punished in ways I cant even express with words.

This not only makes me ashamed for the way mankind has grown more barbaric in the way we treat the animals of our planet, but I am saddened that the weapon of choice in this story is a crossbow. I feel that this behavior gives the hunters of our area an image of carelessness and irresponsiblity.

I know that this is a small percentage of the population, but in hearing these stories I cant believe that these kind of people still exist and can sleep at night.
