Ladies are you looking for adventure this fall? Would you like to learn outdoor skills from top instructors? If so, than you need to join me in New Mexico at the world famous shooting complex Whittington Center this September.

Whether you are a seasoned huntress or just getting started, you will love what the NRA has to offer women at the Women’s Wilderness Escape (WWE) 2009.

The NRA’s WWE is truly a one-of-a-kind adventure camp designed especially for women. WWE provides hands-on experiences such as archery, tactical rifle, muzzleloader, turkey hunting, long-range rifle, survival skills and much more to the participants. Unlike any other outdoor experience the WWE offers training from some of the best instructors, the participants also get the added bonus of learning these skills at one of the country’s premier shooting facilities, the NRA’s Whittington Center.

Come join me again this year in New Mexico for a week of action packed adventure.

Registration is still open, for more information visit the NRA’s Women’s Program Web site at

Smith and Wesson helps raise awareness of Breast Cancer

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Smith & Wesson Commences Donations To Breast Cancer Awareness Charity

Proceeds of M&P9 JG Pistol to Support Education, Research and Treatment

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 26, 2009) – Smith & Wesson Corp., announced today that the company has made its first quarterly donation to the Massachusetts Affiliation of Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization through proceeds collected from the sale of the M&P9 JG pistol. The funds donated will benefit breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

Smith & Wesson designed the M&P9 JG in collaboration with Professional Shooter Julie Goloski Golob with the intent that a portion of the proceeds would benefit breast cancer awareness. The M&P9 JG is a polymer frame pistol that incorporates several competition-specific features requested by the champion shooter. The full-size pistol is engraved with the ‘Awareness Ribbon’ on the slide and is packaged with two pink grip inserts (small and medium) along with the three standard black grip inserts.

“Many of our lives have been touched by breast cancer and Smith & Wesson is very proud to be supporting the Susan G. Komen foundation in order to help support research, increase education and to promote early detection of breast cancer among both women and men,” said Tom Kelly, Vice President of Marketing for Smith & Wesson. “As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, the foundation reaches out to thousands of communities across the globe. Smith & Wesson fully supports these efforts and is pleased to be able to play a small role in the fight against cancer.”

Chambered in 9mm, the M&P9 JG features a fiber optic front sight along with a Warren® Tactical rear sight on top of the 4 ¼-inch barrel. For enhanced durability, the M&P9 JG has a Zytel® polymer frame reinforced with a ridged steel chassis and a through-hardened black Melonite® stainless steel barrel and slide. This combination of features provides unparalleled shootability and dramatically reduces felt recoil. The M&P9 JG has a capacity of 17+1 and is shipped with two magazines. The striker fired action trigger system features a 6 ½-pound trigger pull and has been designed with an over-travel stop for enhanced performance. Another distinct feature that separates the M&P line from other polymer pistols is that it does not require the user to press the trigger in order to field strip the firearm.

Talus performs vanishing act, creates ColdAvenger Hunter face mask in camouflage

New hunting mask marries top-of-the-line camouflage fabric with premium ventilation technology

Missoula, MT—May 12, 2008— Designed with the hunter in mind, Talus Outdoor Technologies, LLC introduces the ColdAvenger¢ç Hunter made with Predator¢ç brown deception camouflage. With the same ventilation technology as the ColdAvenger Classic, the newly-designed ColdAvenger Hunter features a soft yet heavyweight fleece camouflage material. The mask provides hunters and outdoors people with the ultimate cold-weather breathing protection, and its wind-resistant, water-shedding and insulating fabric characteristics make it an essential hunting accessory.

¡°Predator Camouflage is functional and durable, and better yet, its already been tested in the outdoor elements,¡± says Talus COO John Sullivan. ¡°With Predator¡¯s line of camouflage patterns, we knew we could create a product that would truly benefit a wide range of hunters with the need to stay warm, dry and most importantly, unseen.¡±

The Talus ColdAvenger Hunter is designed for a variety of winter outdoor activities where deception and protection from cold is essential. The face piece is made of medical grade plasticizer free polyurethane selected for its safety, microbial resistance, and overall cold weather endurance. The medical grade polyurethane nose and mouth chamber mixes inhaled cold air with exhaled warm air to achieve a dynamic balance of warmth and humidity while keeping moisture away from the face. The Talus ColdAvenger¡¯s patent-pending ventilation technology actually keeps temperatures inside the mask 40¢ª– 60¢ªF higher than outside air.  The Predator fabric is a soft and ultra quiet 380 gram heavyweight fleece that has a comfortable stretch to fit the face, ears, and neck. The result is a state-of-the-art product that keeps your face warm and dry while helping to humidify inhaled cold air and allowing you to breathe freely.

¡°The true advantage to the ColdAvenger technology does not lie in the use of the advanced fabrics, but in the implementation of our patent-pending ventilator system,¡± says Sullivan. ¡°Our ventilation system allows the user to breathe freely without resistance, removes moisture, eliminates fogging of most eyewear, protects airways from the damaging cold, and keeps you warm. All this equates to a much more comfortable and safe outdoor experience.¡±

The cold weather face mask comes in a variety of sizes and can be purchased online at www.talusoutdoortech.com. The camouflage mask retails for $59.95 and is currently offered in one color – brown deception. With its earth-toned colors and a unique Three-Dimensional pattern, the Predator Brown Deception fabric works well in any terrain.

Founded and headquartered in Missoula, Montana, Talus Outdoor Technologies¢â is a leading innovator in technologically-advanced outdoor gear. Talus is dedicated to helping outdoor enthusiasts Stay Out Longer.¢â  In 2007, Talus introduced the ColdAvenger¢ç, an advanced, high-quality cold weather protection mask developed by a physician and a skier. The ColdAvenger¢ç is the result of more than two years of research and development testing in Northern Rocky Mountain winters to achieve four functional goals: thermal comfort, ventilation adequacy, moisture control and ease of breathing during exercise. Talus is proud to provide an elite product while being socially and environmentally conscious.
