Swans and geese Originally posted 01/06

I’m back and Wow did we have a great hunt. We were hunting with Conman’s guide service on Lake Phelps NC. http://www.homestead.com/conmans/
I tell you more about this operation in future posts. Right now I just want to let everyone know that I’m back and I had a great hunt. I got my first ever Snow Goose last Thursday morning, the fog was real thick.

The geese were flying good I just wish I shot better. Then on Friday the 13th I filled my Tundra Swan tag.

A bird with a 7 foot wing span locked and cupped coming into decoys is a site to behold.

I was looking for a bird to eat (have a moose yet to hang so no more taxidermy orders till we get that home and hung) so I took a young one. Friday late morning as the fog began to burn off the swans began flying and we had this one come into the decoys. He was locked and cupped about 20 feet above the bag decoys when I took him. I was very excited. With my tag filled I just shot photos on the Monday at the first NCDeer.com Swan Hunt. As you can see we had a very successful hunt yesterday
