What a Wild Goose Chase
September 9, 2006

The season is 8 days old and I haven’t even got one yet, heck I haven’t even uncased my shotgun. Prior to my trip to Maine for bear the resident goose season here in North Carolina was looking very promising. As unbelievable as it seems when I hear myself say it we can’t find the geese. The farmer’s land we most often hunt hasn’t had a goose on it nor has the farmer seen any flying. We burned some gas today covering some ground looking for them. Cut hay fields, cut corn, and farm ponds all goose less places that years past have given us many good hunts. The disappearance of 100’s of geese is puzzling almost like someone tipped them off that the season is in. We got till the end of the month so I hope they return in time or we answer the big question “Where the heck are they?”

Moose Droppings is a place that chronicles my journey, Ill explore new places and ideas Ill learn new things and Ill teach the things Ive learned to others. Join me on the adventure and hopefully it will help you in your outdoor endeavors.
