Town of Locust looks to Control Expanding Deer Herd

With 45 deer per sq mile and no hunting within city limits it’s a regular deer paradise.
“[There are] a lot of vehicle accidents out here. Probably a third of our vehicle accidents each year is caused by deer,” Haigler said.
In many parts of North Carolina, humans are the only natural predators of deer, but because so few people hunt within the city limits, deer have found their way inside those city limits, which is causing a problem.
Now many towns – like Locust – are creating ordinances that allow certain weapons for deer hunting within city limits.
If only more places across the country took a sensible approach to solving this common problem. Hint Hint Wake County
