This news is wonderful! My heart sank when I heard the boy was missing and I rejoiced when I heard he was found alive and doing well. But as a mother and grandmother, I remember when one of my own slipped away and my love and axiety urged me to pray for his safe return--nothing could be worse than losing a child--"Please God, bring him back safely". And once he was back, I often thought, for the terror he made me endure, I would kill him! This situation seems now to provoke something of that same feeling. The father (in whose joy I join) mentioned asking the boy's teacher to let him forego the homework he missed. I kinda want to shake the father for that; rewarding the dangerous behavior that entailed the hours and energies of so many caring people warrants more homework, not less.
