Back from Bow Hunting Show
April 1, 2007

I spent the weekend at the North Carolina Bow Hunters Association show out at the State Fairgrounds and had a great time. This was the first year they held a 3 day event and moved it to a much larger venue. For the first year in this type of a venue I think it went alright. Although I never heard an attendance announced it was lower then many of the other shows I’ve attended but it takes some time to build up a following.

Although the number of vendors was low there was a broad spectrum of vendors from Guides and Outfitters to archery equipment dealers, call makers and North Carolina Wildlife Commission had a nice display. They conducted a 3d shoot competition all weekend as well as having a shooting area set up to allow youngsters the opportunity to shoot a bow.
With some tweaking and a little better PR campaign I think this will become a great show.

Moose Droppings is a place that chronicles my journey, I’ll explore new places and ideas I’ll learn new things and I’ll teach the things I’ve learned to others. Join me on the adventure and hopefully it will help you in your outdoor endeavors.

Back from Bow Hunting Show…
…
Hey Moose…I know what you mean about “growing an Organization”. I was on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Bowhunter’s Ass’n back from 1974-1986 and it really takes a BO effort, every day of the week to make a GREAT organization…let alone setting up,and expanding a Bowhunting Show or event in order to gain prominence. But a concerted effort by all members can really make a difference. The LBA went from a local group of about 12 members to a State=wide organization of over 650 members in about 6 years. Good Luck and God Bless.
