Tragedy at Falls Lake

A fishing trip to the lake between a mentor and his 16 year old little brother ended tragically with the 16 year old drowning. They were fishing on a steep rocky bank when the 16 year old jumped into retrieve his cell phone that had slid into the lake. With water temperatures reported in the 60’s and not being a strong swimmer he began to struggle almost immediately his mentor who is also not a good swimmer jumped into try to help and he also got into trouble. Another angler nearby jumped in to help and was able to pull the mentor out but the teenager went under and never came back up.

Such a sad chain of events our thoughts and prayers with the family of this boy as well as with the mentor.
