Well Sometimes the Best Laid Plans Don’ t Work Out

I’ve just returned from a quick trip to Maine and my intentions were to update the blog while on the road but that did not work out as planned. I couldn’t let folks know I would be gone because the purpose of my trip was to surprise my Mother on her 80th birthday. All but one of us kids (7 of us) made it to Northern Maine for the weekend celebration.
The drive from Raleigh to Presque Isle is beautiful but long and the return trip seemed to be even longer. I got some great photos and stories to share so over the next few days I’ll get some of that together and up here. The foliage in the Northern part of Maine was just stunning. The southern parts of New England have just started to change and it will be a few more weeks before Mother Nature puts on her fall show there.
I promise over the next few days to catch up on reading my emails as well as the other blogs I read. It’s good to be back and I can’t wait to share some of the stories from the road.
What a great surprise for your Mom. I also can’t wait to see the pictures. Our trees are taking their time turning here, and I need some Fall color.
