Jacob Allen Found by Searchers

Many prayers were answered today when Jacob Allen was located by searchers in the Dolly Sods Wilderness alive and doing fairly well. Little is being reported about his condition at this time but we do know he was found lying down in a clearing about a mile from where his hat was located. He walked part of the way out with rescuers before becoming tired and he was carried out on. He has been reunited with his family and transported to Davis Memorial Hospital.
We rejoice with Allen’s and the rescuers that God guided them in their search and helped them locate Jacob.

How did he become autistic? Was he autistic at birth? It is very sad that that he is; he is a very good-looking guy, and I am sure that if he does not have this handicap, he can achieve whatever he sets out to do in this world. Does he have a normal I.Q. besides his autism? A young man with his stunning good looks is very highly valued in this world. If Jacob has a normal I.Q., I urge his parents to find the best autism expert in the country to rid him of this handicap so he can be a successful and useful citizen. Financial concerns should not be a problem, as there are a lot of organizations that are willing to help such kids. Social workers are a great resource in this area. Best of Luck to master Jacob.
I don’t know why you people don’t leave this young man alone. He is obviously out trying to find Jesus. Please. Some consideration.
Please, this is not an Autistic boy…this is a boy with Autism. The disability is not all this young man is about so please use respect when you’re addressing him or others with this condition. And to Kevin, who posted earlier, he will never be rid of Autism. You are born with this condition, and while you may make wonderful gains in life, it just doesn’t heal like a broken leg. Please do your research before making such rediculous comments as you have.
What is the difference between a boy with autism and an autistic boy? Do you have to have autism to understand the difference?
I don’t think anyone is saying that autism is the only thing that defines this young man however in this situation his condition strongly contributed to the situation he found himself in. Just like any other medical or disability that had such a significant impact on the situation would play prominent in the story. I understand fully what you are saying but I think it’s a bit of semantics. I would point out that I do find it strange that you refer to him as a “boy” when he is clearly a young adult.
Lets not lose the important part of this story where a young man with a lot of odds against him was found after 4 days in a remote wilderness area by a team of folks willing to go out and look for him. My hat is off to all those who went out to search and help.
I say, Yabba dabba do. Let’s get more of these autistic kids out there finding themselves. I didn’t find myself until I was 32. This kids got a huge jump on the rest of us. That’s what I say anyways. But I do contend that the kid should have been formally trained in the boy scouts before he was sent out into the wilderness all alone. Was he?
