Update on My Hunting
November 5, 2007
I’ve seen some deer but so far haven’t fired my muzzleloader. The time spent sitting in nature watching and observing a variety of creatures has been relaxing. There is something magical about observing the woods waking up to a new day; the yipes of a coyote as it ends the night of hunting, the musical sound of geese getting up off the water and heading to the fields to feed, the cries of the crows as they begin their search for food and camaraderie as they ca back and forth, the scream of the red tail as it soars above the field looking for the late field mouse scurrying back to it’s nest, the yelps of the turkey as they attempt to put the flock back together for a day of scratching & feeding, the sound of squirrels scurrying in the leaves and up and down the trees looking for a cherished acorn, and finally the snap and scuffing of the leaves as the first deer exits the woods and into the field looking for something to eat. It has been a good couple of days so far nice crisp mornings the day time temperatures do climb but latter this week a cold front is do and we’ll see the temperatures become more seasonable.
No one in the club so far has killed a deer but the week is still young. I had some things I had to do this afternoon so I’m home and Lord willing I will return before dawn to observe another magical dawning of another day.

Moose Droppings is a place that chronicles my journey, Ill explore new places and ideas Ill learn new things and Ill teach the things Ive learned to others. Join me on the adventure and hopefully it will help you in your outdoor endeavors.

Very pretty and the description divine.
Great pictures. I especially love the one of the geese. I hear geese flying over my house all the time and I always like to go outside and watch them fly over. There’s just something about the sound of them honking that I love.
I killed a doe on Tuesday at the end of the day. The story is part of my radio show this week that airs on Friday at 1pm. I’m sure I’ll write it out here once I get back to my normal schedule. I’m having a blast but it also tires me out. Back to the woods in the morning so I better get to bed.
