Young Hunter Dies From Accidental Self Inflicted Gun Shot
December 4, 2007
Hauling a loaded gun in or out of a treestand is a recipe for disaster and last week it cost a North Carolina man his life. Justin Sellers,22 of Leland NC was killed when he lowered a loaded rifle out of his deer stand last Wednesday and the weapon discharged striking him in the heart. A momentary lapse in judgment cost this man his life and I hope everyone remembers to unload their gun before climbing into a stand. If you need a way to get your unloaded gun safely in and out of your stand you should check out the Gun Triever. Also take a hunter safety class to educate yourself on how to hunt safely and avoid a tragedy like this. Our thoughts and prayers are with Justin’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

Moose Droppings is a place that chronicles my journey, Ill explore new places and ideas Ill learn new things and Ill teach the things Ive learned to others. Join me on the adventure and hopefully it will help you in your outdoor endeavors.

I just hate these stories. Especially when I know accidents like this could so easily be avoided. Thanks, as always, for mentioning the GunTriever.
Damn, I hate reading about stuff like this.
My condolences, for what they’re worth, go out to this young man’s family and loved ones.
