Animal Rights Groups to Join Forces To Take On Hunting

Jan 04, 2008 @ 09:00 am by Moose

The largest anti hunting group HSUS is working to get other animal rights groups to combine forces to take on hunting and other animal rights issues across the country. Many of these organizations are already collaborating with each other and it seems to make no difference that many of these organizations have ties to groups that perform domestic terrorism. If groups like this have their way not only will trapping and hunting be shut down they will eliminate many of the agricultural industries as well as many future medical advances. The HSUS is not the folks who run your local animal shelter but a fund raising organization that pushes a very dangerous agenda to the American Lifestyle.

The voice of America’s anti-hunting forces is trying to become more powerful.
In what the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance is calling a “precisely-calculated effort,” the Humane Society of the United States is attempting to consolidate all of the animal rights movement’s political power under a single umbrella.
Humane Society director Wayne Pacelle reportedly told one publication that his organization may soon merge with at least three unnamed animal rights organizations.
“The HSUS is playing up a mainstream reputation in hopes of becoming the primary mouthpiece for the animal rights movement,” said Bud Pidgeon, president of the Sportsmen’s Alliance. “It is not difficult to convince a smaller group to unite with a multimillion dollar organization that will push its political agenda, be it to end hunting or eliminate animal research.

We better gear up for a fight because it looks like we’ll have one to keep our heritage and culture going.

  1. I’ve always said that the anti-hunting people have some very smart PR and Marketing personnel. You’re right, those who support hunting and fishing are going to have to get their act together. Here’s hoping that happens.

  3. The story mentions that these groups have huge sums of money. Where does it come from? If any business I know of supports these radicals, I think the majority of Americans would like to know this. If the financial support is coming from wealthy celebrities, I think Ted Nugent would like to know it. On one hand it offends my sensibility that these loonies are given any media coverage, but I understand it is how our system works. I would like to see an open forum for debate with them, with scoring based on facts, not the emotional jargon we are getting from these presidential debates. Moose, is there an organization besides NRA that can lead a counter effort?

  4. We as hunters can’t seem to get along well enough as a whole in order to counter attack these groups. We seem to find arguing about baiting laws, Sunday Hunting, etc., etc., much more productive. Will we ever learn?
