Dam Beavers Save the Day

This day and age you’re more apt to hear people complaining about the damage beavers are causing especially with the drought. The lack of water seems to really put these critters on the move. Well in nearby Cary NC public officials are dealing with a sizable illegal dumping of some type of cleaning fluid in a creek behind a local auto dealership. This posed a threat to our somewhat limited water supply but was contained by beaver dams in the creek. This will allow clean up before it reaches the water supply.

So next time ya hearing someone complaining about beavers remember they do serve a purpose. Many parts of the country you’ll find some great trout fishing in beaver ponds as well as ideal habitat for many waterfowl. Plus in this case they prevented this substance from making it into our water supply.
