Sgt. Brian Blankenship, 12 year veteran, has been named NC Wildlife Officer of the year by the National Wild Turkey Federation for his dedication to promoting youth hunting as well as his drive to catch poachers and preserve our natural resources. Sgt. Blankenship will be honored at the NWTF 32 annual convention in Atlanta Ga in a few weeks where he will have the possibility of being named the National Wildlife Officer of the Year. Sgt Blankenship patrols Allegany County in the western part of the state.
Often times we forget the important job these officers do to protect our resources and to keep us safe. I’m glad to be part of an organization like the NWTF that honors these officers for the job they do.
Congratulations Sgt Blankenship for this honor and all the recipients from other states.
