Skeletal Remains Discovered By Hunter On Saturday Today Positively Identified As John Bryant

February 4, 2008

A case we have been following over here was the disappearance and murder of John & Irene Bryant while hiking in Pisgah National Forest. The Bryant’s disappeared back in October but it took a while for authorities to discover that this was more then a missing person’s case. Authorities have tied the Bryant’s case to a serial killer, Gary Hilton, that was captured and is now convicted of killing a Georgia woman in a similar fashion.

This past weekend’s discovery of the remains of John Bryant more then a couple of hours drive from where Irene was found brings to the end the questions of what happened to John. I can only hope that the family gets some peace out of now knowing and being able to lay John to rest.

North Carolina Authorities will now work to gather any additional evidence and to formulate the case to file charges against the low life scum that has preyed on a number of people in the outdoors.

In the sentencing part of the Meredith Emerson murder case Gary Hilton was sentenced to Life in Prison ( Making him eligible for parole in 2038 at the age of 91) but not before Meredith’s parents had an opportunity to speak. I end with David Emerson’s words that I must admit I whole heartily agree with;

“I only pray that he suffers immensely for his heinous acts and that even his fellow inmates recognize his evil and malevolence for mankind and treat him with appropriate measures.”
