I grew up with Eddie and rode the bus to school every day with him. He was great guy and a wonderful outdoorsman. He hunted fair chase with a bow only. My brother Cliff hunted with him. We will miss him.

I had the privilege of attending Northern Durham High School with Eddie and remember him as an outstanding individual with an awesome work ethic. My prayers go out to his family as well as his brethren with the NCWRC.

I had the pleasure of knowing Eddie through his brother. I can say from first hand knowledge that he was one of the most likable guys you would ever meet. I once went catfishing with Eddie on probably the coldest day of the year. We built a fire next to the lake and cooked the best venison steak I have ever eaten. We only caught a couple of fish that day, but they were huge. It was simply one of the best fishing trips I have been on. He will be sorely missed. Eddie is certainly in a better place, but please pray for his family that they might find peace.

My father, Ret. First Sgt. Paul K. Linder, was the training officer for Eddie. I too heard the information from the news. My father was not in NC at the time and I was the first to tell him. My father returned on Tuesday afternoon and called me immediately after he recieved my message. He is very saddened to know that such a great and upstanding man lost his life in an accident. Not only was the accident a tradgedy, but to lose such a great man.
