Onslow County Bear Hunter Attacked By Bear

Two bear hunters had an encounter with a bear they soon won’t forget. Around 1:30 pm Monday they shot a black bear that in turned attacked them mauling one of the hunters. The incident happened in Hofmann Forest the other hunter was able to use a cell phone to call for help. The mauled hunter was air lifted to Pitt Memorial a few hours latter after rescuers were able to reach the scene. The condition of the hunter is not known reports state he has severe injuries to a leg.
