Rescued….. Finally
December 10, 2008

We’ve been following the story of Bear Grylls accident and now completed rescue from Antarctica. The Man VS Wild star had a serious accident while on an expedition where he crashed while kite skiing severely fracturing and dislocating his shoulder on Saturday. Yesterday we reported that a rescue flight had been launched from Cape Town and they were hopeful that the weather would break at least long enough so the could pick Bear up and return to Cape Town. People Magazine is reporting that this morning, Wednesday, the plane landed with Bear in Cape Town. They plan to have him seen by a doctor there but then he’ll continue on to Great Briton where he’ll under go the surgery he needs to repair his injuries.
Grylls, famous for his survival skills, was flown to Cape Town, where he arrived Wednesday morning looking pale and exhausted, with his arm in a sling underneath his T-shirt.
“It’s really good to be back in a normal place,” the father-of-two told reporters. “Now I just want to get back to my family … and have my shoulder sorted out.”
The dangers and risks of going to remote places. Thank goodness there are those who’ll come pull us out when we get ourselves in trouble be it the woods behind the house or somewhere on the bottom of the earth.
