I have been using twitter for a few years now. I started using twitter not long after it went public and myself and a few friends have used it to keep in touch ever since. Twitter has become quite popular of late and that has improved the usefulness of the tool. I can get notices of breaking news, traffic congestion, pass conditions, great recipes, and see what is on the television at just about any given time of the day or the night. There are also a lot of people that, like me, use twitter as a forum to vent what ever is on our minds. You can find people with an opinion on any subject on twitter and you will find opinions on all sides of the debate on that subject as well. I like that I can find different views on all subjects, but I am getting tired of the posters that instead of posting useful information and possible alternative actions on the subject, they instead spend all of their time ridiculing and insulting everyone that disagrees with their view of the subject. I know that we all are entitled to have an opinion on any subject, and I have my opinions on most subjects that I am not afraid to share, but I do not believe that it is acceptable to insult those that disagree with me because they disagree. I have had enough of the insults and name calling. Over the next week or so I am going to look closely at what is being posted to twitter. If all someone is posting is insults then they are off my follow list, and anyone that disagrees can remove me from their follow list as well.

I try to keep politics out of my posts here. I really want this blog to be more about my adventures in my daily life and not a platform for my political beliefs. Don’t get me wrong, I have many opinions on politics and I am not afraid to share them, but I have other outlets on the internet for that. I am posting this because this article on Arlen Specter from CNN bugged me. Specter says that he left the Republican party for the Democrat party because the G.O.P. is becoming too conservative. Specter has told his story for changing parties several times and every time it is different. Arlen Specter was voted into office by citizens of the state of Pensilvania. Because he does not feel he can win another election as a Republican he turned his back on the citizens that voted for him to change party for a better chance to keep his job after the next election. Arlen instead of changing parties, why don’t you try doing the job you were hired to do, for the people that hired you? Arlen Specter lied to the people to get elected. He has now come to realize that those same people are pissed about it and want him gone. I know that the ONE is very pleased with this switch, but I hope that all of the citizens in pennsilvania recognize what a snake he is and send him packing. Both parties are now so corrupt and out of touch with the people of this country that we all need to say ENOUGH! We want our country back. It is time that we remind both parties that their primary focus is to serve US. They were hired by the people of the United States of America to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. They were not hired to do what is best to keep their party in power. I emplore every citizen of this country to get involved in the next election. Demand that the candidates for every office give real answer to questions about their policies and not politician double speak. Hold them to those campaign promises and above all hold them accountable to the Constitution. If we do not stand up and demand that we STOP SPENDING MONEY WE DO NOT HAVE!! that we SECURE OUR BORDERS and that we STOP EXPORTING JOBS OVERSEAS!

Well I have been busy enjoying the 80 degree weather we have been having here in Idaho so I have missed my updates for a few days. The last few days have been a bit stressful and that has made me look for the smokes more. I have resisted them, but just the fact that I go looking for them when I get stressed pisses me off. I can not believe how deeply those damn things have gotten hooked into me. It is amazing to me just how addictive cigarettes are. I am far enough out that I feel like I am going to be able to kick the habit, but it is not over yet.

I have gone fishing 4 times so far this spring. I have not caught much yet, but I have had a good time being out wetting a line. The weather is getting better here in Idaho and the fishing is starting to improve. I have also had to pick up a bunch of garbage left behind by some inconsiderate jackass. I am tired of having to pack someone elses garbage home to put in my trash. Why is it so hard for people to just pick up after themselves? I stopped for a short time at Wilson Spring Ponds in Nampa. The ponds are right across the street from the Fish and Game office. There are trash cans and restrooms there and I still had to pick up garbage to put in the trash cans.

This weekend has been stressfull for me. I have not had a good weekend. I went fishing Friday afternoon and again Saturday. The fishing was not that good so I did not get my mind off of the stress by catching fish. It was nice to get out and enjoy being at the edge of the pond, but I was still to stressed to fully relax and enjoy it. I have not found anything yet that will relieve my stress os I have been keeping busy to keep my mind off of cigarettes. They are my go to stress reliever so it has been hard. I have been able to resist however and have stayed away from them.

The last two days have been much better for me. I have not had any cravings for cigarettes and have been feeling very good. I hope things continue to go this way.

So my question is, do we have to wait for the Somali Pirates to carry out this threat before we act? Is the threat enough to get our government to act?

Today started out rough. I woke up with a very strong desire to have a smoke. That desire would not go away. I fought it until about noon before it finaly eased up. After that is was mostly a normal day. I hope that does not happen again. It was very difficult to not give in and buy a pack of smokes.

Well it has been SEVEN days without a smoke. The first few days were rough, but with each day the cravings have eased up. I do not really have the cravings for a smoke now, but the desire is still very strong. I find that when ever I do something that I used to smoke while doing and I am looking for my smokes. I have to force myself to stop and get on with what I was supposed to be doing. I also have caught myself as I wander around the house and I find a empty cigarette pack looking to see if there is a smoke in it. When it is empty I am let down. I still want a smoke so bad. The good news is that I no longer need one. I will have to stay vigilante to keep from slipping back into the old habit, but I do believe I am well on my way to beating this addiction.
