Thanks to "Skinny Moose Media" we will have Stam Fleming covering Acadia National Park. I look forward to reading his blog!

And thanks to Stan Fleming for my "Down-east" welcome, as I now have a summer home in Maine to enjoy!

I hail from Key West, Florida and I am living in Key Largo, Florida.
I was attracted to Maine as it was the state that I found most conducive to my New England needs. I have always loved New England and spent many a summer in New Port, Rhode Island.

I enjoyed R.I. for the most part, but could not completely identify with this New England region.
Down-east Maine hit the spot!! I absolutely love the people and the small towns and villages.
I plan to spend a lot of my time exploring Ellsworth, Jonesport, Bar Harbor, Belfast, Deer Isle, Stonnington, Monhegan Island and Pemaquid Point.

I love the Florida Keys and the weather in Florida in general, but the summers in New England have always been a treat I have always afforded myself!!
I chose Maine because the people seem to want to preserve the land and their way of life. The people of Key West once wanted to preserve their way of life,...but "commercialism" destroyed my island hometown.

I am looking forward to investing my time and efforts to ensure that "Down-east" Maine does not meet the same fate as Key West. I have found another paradise to call my own "Down-east" Maine.

I will be heading to Maine next month (April) to attend a "quarry protest" in Bucksport, as the residents are in need of help due to the proposed quarry site.

I want Maine preserved for future generations to come!
Again,..Thanks for the "Welcome Wagon" Stan! -Laurie ;-)
