Skinny Moose Round Up - September 8, 2007

September 8, 2007

I haven’t done one of these in a while. Actually I don’t think I have ever called it a round up. So I guess I will mention a few things happening here at the Network with some of the individual blogs and bloggers.

First, Tom Remington, co-owner of Skinny Moose Media and author of the Black Bear Blog will be airing a radio broadcast every Thursday afternoon at 3pm (EST). The name if his show is Open Air and will cover a lot of topics. Go here to read more about it.

Spencer at the Golf Blog called Fore, just completed a second interview. This time it was with Graeme Duncan, the General Manager of Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland. For those who are not up on the latest golf stuff, Carnoustie Golf Links was the site of this year’s PGA British Open.

Kenneth Chesson, a videographer for hunting and fishing shows, has been filming some exciting hunts as of late. Last week Chesson went with Tom Miranda, Producer of ESPN’s Advantage Adventures and Whitetail Country to the Game Trails Lodge in Sturgis, KY for a whitetail hunt. This week Chesson is headed back out with Miranda for a Elk hunt in Portland, OR.

Jeremiah, author of the Fish Geek, is off to the 137th annual meeting of the American Fisheries Society in San Fransisco. Apparently over 1,800 presentations are in order and it is a great way to socialize with other fisheries people all over North America. One of the presentations will be given by Jeremiah himself about environmental factors potentially limiting the distribution of brown trout throughout the West, and how it may affect native cutthroat trout.

Resident goose season started last week in North Carolina. Billy at Blind Ambitions jumps on the opportunity and provides a great way to prepare goose. One of his personal favorites is goose fajita. Sounds delicious!! Head over and learn how to prepare it.
