This is a very good list you put together here.

Some of your suggestions I have tried out and it does work really well.
The “Blog Buzz” where I copy the first paragraph of an interesting article and then link to the blog that posted it has become a popular feature on my blog.

Also recipes have shown popularity and picking a controversial subject has proven to be a real hit in the blog statistics. Posting a poll on the blog and then later write about the poll results is another way to overcome a dry spell.

Looking for ideas? I'm looking for someone to start talking about what I'm working on.

There's a million trails out there in the world and there's no Free national or international database. So I'm working to build one. Granted, it's going to take time to add in all the features that could be a part of it in the future, but for now it's a start, and it's up and running.

Maybe a review of this, and other sites doing similar projects are worth talking about. After all, with the right marketing someone will emerge as THE leader of trail wikis.

Definitely going to have to print this list off. I don't run dry too often, but it's always good to have backup.
