Advertising Opportunities for Small Business and Individual

October 11, 2007

For some this may be a reminder and for others this is something new. Across our Skinny Moose blog Network we provide advertising. If you look on most of our blogs, in the upper right hand corner we have some advertising slots. We also provide slots up top above the banners.

You can see a list of some of our sponsors here. I need to update the list with a couple new ones but you can get an idea…. We have revamped some of our prices and have made accommodations for the small business and individuals who might be looking to get a little exposure. Skinny Moose Media is growing rapidly and we currently bring in over 100,000 page views each month. This number continues to rise as we add new blogs and our current blogs get more active.

On most of our blogs you can see the following 125×125 ad slots which appear directly below our prime 300×250 slot. We added these in for those who are looking to get a link on our blogs and provide a little advertising.

Replacement Blog Opportunities

October 9, 2007

From time to time we have blogs on our Network that need new authors. Sometimes people get too busy to blog or something happens in their lives that require them more attention off the computer. In this case we open the blogs up for potential new authors.

There are some benefits to jumping in and taking over an old blog rather than starting from scratch. Naturally blogs take a bit of time to gain momentum and develop traffic. We pay our bloggers based on traffic so the potential to make a little more money off the bat is there.

A few blogs we are looking for authors are as follows:

Fore - Golf blog.
Nutria News - Louisiana outdoor blog.
Maine Guides Journal - Looking for a Maine guide to blog.

If you have any ideas for new blogs let me know. We are still looking for blogs about the following:

- Military
- Travel
- National Parks and Recreation
- Fishing
- Mountain Climbing
- Hunting

Southern Adventures Reappears at Skinny Moose Media

October 8, 2007

Brad Faircloth, author of Southern Adventures, is back to blogging. Brad was one of our first bloggers and due to heavy work loads at his full time job he was unable to keep up his blog. Brad who contacted me last week said he would have the time now and would love to blog again. I had his blog tucked away somewhere in case he wanted to begin blogging again some day. So welcome back Brad and we are happy to have you. Head on over to his blog in which he recently resurrected.

Here is a quick bio of Brad.

My name is Brad Faircloth and I live in Alamance County, North Carolina. I was introduced to the outdoors by my grandpa in Georgia. I took up fishing at an early age with him along the Chattahoochee River, at around age 9 I was given my first gun and started chasing rabbits and squirrels with my dad. Just a year or so later I moved on to Whitetail Deer and eventually feral hogs. I enjoy my deer hunting and wouldn’t miss the season for anything, but, the elusive feral hogs that inhabit the swamps of the southeast really have a hold on me. Ive hunted them in almost every southern state and met some really great people and made some even better friends along the way. I hope to continue this trend for as long as I can. I’d like to thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog, and if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.

What Aspect of Blogging is Most Important When Driving Traffic to Your Blog?

October 6, 2007

I think there are several things one can do to drive traffic to their own blog. Sometimes it is the combination of a lot of factors that determine how much traffic you can bring in. I created a poll off to the right in my sidebar of which I thought were some basic ways in which to drive traffic. I believe there are a lot more than 4 ways but I chose those 4 because they were simple and most popular.

There are sub-categories. For instance the SEOing of your blog. There are many things you can do that will help improve SEO. Same with networking with other bloggers. I can list probably 20 ways off the top of my head that could fall under the category of networking. Examples would be emailing other bloggers, commenting on other bloggers, running contests, and so on.

Updating your blog post often is a good one. But what kind of posts? Will all posts be treated the same? Long ones? Short ones? News articles or tips?

So feel free to take a look at the four options and determine if you could only choose one way to begin driving traffic to your blog, which one do you think is the most important? We all know they are ALL important but which one is the most important?

I am interested to see over the next couple weeks what you all choose. The poll is on the right side of the blog in the gray area. Thanks.
