Bible Study Verse
Psalms 20:1
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. (NIV)

Thoughts
Those are 17 powerful words; you’re counting them aren’t you? We have all had times in life and in the field when we ask the lord for help. It may be because the birds aren’t flying or the deer aren’t moving, but those are not times of distress, just moments of frustration. “Come on God; just send in one pair of ducks.”

Real distress can have a physical as well as a mental impact on us. Those are the times when we should draw closest to God. We need to rely on him because the burden on us is too great.

Action Point
One of my least favorite moments is the sinking feeling of being lost and not sure of my bearings. It’s a feeling that can totally encompass me, if I let it. The older I have gotten, I have come to realize that if I take a minute to relax, ask the Lord to calm me down, and listen to what he has to say the calmness, only he can bring , leads me to making a better decision. Since, my feelings lead me to freak out, I ask God to take over and be the voice of reason that I need. I need His protection and direction.

Sportsmen’s Tip of the Day
One of the best gadgets to come along is the portable GPS unit. The unit has become extremely affordable. I carry one in my vehicle almost constantly. It is a wonderful help on the road and in the field. It has become part of my travel gear since it is easy to operate and helps to keep me comfortable in unfamiliar areas. God bless the people who invented them!
